to special events, on location or small-product shots in studio.
Photography assignments begin with discussions about the type of images
needed, scope of the assignment, scheduling and a shooting plan.
Depending on the type of shoot, the requirements and intent, the
resulting images may be considered a work for hire, royalty free license
or other arrangement.
Along with taking the photographs, we can also perform the processing
and preparation work to balance and size the images for the intended use.
Preprint preparation or resizing for digital or web use are routine
tasks along with large format prints for display or conference applications.
Photo Shoot Pricing
We bill either location or studio assignments at $150 an hour plus expenses.
Travel time to location is billed at half rate plus travel costs. Day
rate is $1,100. Prints, print books, licensing or usage fees are billed
extra.

Stock Photos
Most Hawk River photos are available for stock use by arrangement. License
fees depend on the image and the intended use or publication method. Most
low resolution images on this site are available at no cost for non-commercial
use under a creative commons license. See the

Stock images are typically delivered electronically but can be delivered
on disk if required. We can also work with your printer to provide separations
or other enhancements if necessary for press work.
Stock resolutions
Hawk River's stock images are usually 300dpi resolution and most have been
sharpened at low levels and have been processed through a noise
reduction filter. If you need unsharpened or otherwise unprocessed images,
let us know and we can start from the original RAW format image and
process to your requirements.
Scanning and Digitizing Services
Hawk River provides digitizing and scanning services to capture original
artwork in a high quality, high resolution digital format for reproduction,
digital distribution, editing or other uses.
Depending on the size and the original media, we can scan or digitally
photograph with a variety of techniques.
We also scan non-digital photos, slides and negatives to capture silver based
photographs in a digital format for further processing, restoration and
reprinting. Scans are saved in a TIFF format for high resolution images or
a JPEG format for lower resolution or internet use.
Image Processing
For either print or online use, Hawk River Images can perform the appropriate
digital image processing to produce produce image
collages, enhamcments and image effects to help you put across your message.
We offer a wide variety of processing services including resizing, noise
reduction, photo filtering, image enhancement, object removal and more.
We can perform lens corrections to take the "lean" out of architectural
photos and do color correction and contrast or shadow correction to
achieve a consistent look to photos for brochures and web tours.
Photo and Transparency Restoration
Whether you have some heirloom photos that have suffered the trials of time
or old slides or pictures that you would like reprinted, we can help
you get put new life into your family album or repurpose commercial photos
for either print or digital use.
Hawk River can scan your original photo prints, slides or negatives and
rebalance the color if necessary and often repair cracked, torn or scratched
photos.
